And while we are talking about worthwhile causes GTACC likes we would like to present Catherine's Cause.
Thanks to all who participated in the April 28th Adopt-a-Highway event.
Our 3rd event was a total success! We collected 6 trash bags full, a baby pool, 2 tires, a five gallon bucket and assorted car parts. Great job everyone! Our next Clean up is scheduled for this June 23rd. Stay tuned!
GTACC Thanks Maria Myers!
Ms. Myers presentation at our March 12 meeting on the recycling program in Carroll County was most informative. Along with her presentation she brought lots of free information and provided many answers to residents questions. Ms. Meyers has implemented many of recycling programs in Carroll County. Check it out!
Please Stay Tuned!
On February 21st the Planning & Zoning Commission discussed Land use designations as part of the Master Plan review. Taylorsville and several parcels in the surrounding area were recommended as areas to consider for Employment Land use designations. You can watch the discussion. The Workshop starts at 3:00, but becomes more relevant to Taylorsville around 3:30.
Thank You Mr. Eisner!
Mark Eisner of Advanced Land and Water, Inc., shared some very interesting insights and information about the interrelationship of land planning, environmental permitting and growth control efforts as it relates to Taylorsville, Carroll County and other suburban areas outside existing water and sewer areas. The turnout was great and Mr. Eisner's presentation was most informative. We also thank ll of you who brought a canned food item for the Feed the Heart program
Time Well Spent
For those of you who were able to attend Monday eve's (Oct 10) meeting it was time well spent. We would like to thank Don West of Waste Not Carroll for coming out and giving everyone an update on where we (Carroll County) are regarding the contentious WTE incinerator issue. The issue seems to have cooled off a bit since the election but its not over by a mile.
Speaking of Incinerators and Money...
Here is an interesting article. This should give us all a little bit more to think aboutregarding our incinerator issue
